Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Pi’illo creatures, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in a strange house in an unfamiliar city, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He suggests that they must have passed out while watching television the night before, but before he can explain further, the situation gets even stranger. A creature named Starlow, a Star Sprite, arrives, insisting that she is their friend. She says they had plans to meet, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of her or any such plans. They reluctantly follow Starlow outside, unsure of their surroundings. They wander around the city, pretending not to recognize either their surroundings or Starlow. Despite his confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they were longtime friends. As he shows them around, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and their names, trying to calm them down. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith remain disoriented and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned, initially thinking that they are just pretending to forget. However, as their strange behavior persists, he begins to worry that there is something seriously wrong with his memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens, and he wonders if there is something more behind his forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky provides them with an unfamiliar bed, who still claims to be their father. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle in for the night. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their pasts, and the cause of their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they drift into a restless sleep, unsure of what the future holds.
